JC   4-301   Christophilos and the Pascal Lamb from Tales of Christophilos by Joice M. Nankivell
The people in Pyrgos call their tiny village in Greece, 'the world.'   When they say, 'the world knows,' they mean everybody in the village knows.   When they say 'the sun has teeth', they mean that the sun is strong enough to bite after the winter.   Christophilos, his mother, and his grandmother, whom he calls Yaryar, like almost everyone in Pyrgos, are very poor.   There are many tales of Christophilos.  Some people say they are only legends.  But the people who live in 'the world' know they are true
