I've had so much fun digging through fine art looking for images for the My Book of Delights Series. I kept thinking--I don't want to lose these paintings or artists I've stumbled upon.
Plus many of the links have broken to Art Renewal and AR has changed things in their website that makes the art harder to access and print out. Plus the images are small on the pinterest pages and difficult to view. SO... I talked to my daughter, Krystal, one day awhile ago and asked what would it take to create a new site dedicated to fine art, organized for moms in this group. She said, "Mom, that would be a massively huge undertaking. " I said, "Am I crazy?" She said, "Yes, yes you are." "Let's do it." Today I am announcing the new Simple Joy: Fine Art for Well-Educated Hearts site for you to go discover and explore. It is only the tip of the iceberg of what will be added in the weeks and months ahead, but there is enough there to open it up to you to use while it is under construction. Some of the features I hope you will like are: 1. Each painting will have a direct link to Wikimedia Commons where you can easily download and print it out. 2. You can view all the art as a full-screen image on your phone or laptop--just swipe from image to image. 3. Because the art is in the public domain, you shouldn't have to worry about using it. Do your own research if you want to use it for commercial purposes. 4. It is organized by Family topics, Nature topics, and by Nation. You choose. NOTE: Do give a few moments for the pages to load. There's a lot of art going on! This new site will be linked to the Fine Art tab in your apps probably sometime today. If you still want access to the Art Renewal images, you can still enter art/home and family in the search bar of the website and bring the page up. Krystal is the hero of this story. She has already dedicated more hours than I can count to get this site set up and loaded with art. I think you'll agree--she has done a beautiful job. And now, have some fun looking around!
