About Us
Hi! I'm Marlene Peterson, founder of Libraries of Hope and finder of the Well-Educated Heart pattern for learning. My husband Brent and I have raised eight daughters and one son and are thoroughly enjoying this grandparenting stage of our lives. Although I have a degree in Child Development and Family Relations from Brigham Young University, my real learning took place in the laboratory of my own home. I currently live in the beautiful countryside of Appomattox, Virginia, blissfully surrounded by the stories of history.
I've always had a restlessness where education is concerned and what you see here on this website is the result of many years of searching. I love sharing what I am learning to fellow sojourners on this journey of life and our quest for joy. Among my offerings to you is the Forgotten Classics Family Library consisting of over 60 volumes of stories to stir and inspire the hearts of you and your children. Recognizing the power of telling stories, I prepared a manual for re-learning the art of storytelling called Restoring the Art of Storytelling in the Home. I have personally selected and previewed the thousands of books and other resources you will find linked in the online library. I created the Mothers University where mothers can nurture their own hearts. My firm belief that it will be out of the abundance of mothers' hearts that our world will be blessed and lifted led to the founding of Mothers of Influence. None of this would have been possible without the help and support of family and friends and I am so grateful to them. And especially I acknowledge the Unseen Hands that have guided my path and shown the way. I love hearing from you. Please don't hesitate to write with your questions or to share your experiences and insights. I have great hope for the future because of the families I am privileged to associate with through this labor of love I call Libraries of Hope. |
